injury puts Bridge and Terry on England collision course

Fabio Capello was last night forced to confront the dressing-room split between John Terry and Wayne Bridge after Ashley Cole was ruled out of England’s World Cup warm-up with Egypt.

Capello hoped he had put the issue to bed by stripping Terry of the England captaincy in the wake of his affair with Bridge’s former girlfriend, Vanessa
Perroncel.

But now the England boss faces having to ask Bridge if he is prepared to play alongside his former best mate and now bitter foe after Cole was told he will be out for three months with a broken
left ankle.

As well as a huge blow for Chelsea, it is a massive problem for Capello, who was planning to put the issue on the
side-burner for the next few weeks but now has to address it immediately
