Aleksandar Kolarov is set to officially become a Manchester City player on Monday,

Lazio accepted Manchester City 's £17million bid for the attacking left-back last week, and he is due to fly to England for a medical after the weekend before joining his new teammates on a pre-season tour in the US, according to the Italian Web site Tuttomercato.

The 24-year-old Serb, who is considered to be one of the best and most intelligent left-backs in the world, is expected to dislodge Wayne Bridge from the Manchester City line-up.

Noted for his ball-striking from set-pieces, Kolarov will join other glamorous summer signings at Eastlands - defender Jerome Boateng, winger David Silva and midfielder Yaya Toure, who joined Manchester City for combined fees of more than £60 million.
