Joorabchian says Jo will need time to adjust to the Premier League
Super-agent Kia Joorabchian has warned Manchester City fans they are unlikely to see the best of Jo until January.
City boss Mark Hughes paid a club record £18m for the Brazilian striker.
But Joorabchian, who brokered the deal between City and CSKA Moscow for the 21-year-old, believes City supporters should not to expect too much too soon.
He told BBC Sport: "Jo is going to the Olympics and won't get a full pre-season. That will mean he's not at his best until January."
The Olympic football tournament finishes on 23 August, meaning Jo could miss City's Uefa Cup qualifier against FC Midtjylland on 14 August and their opening two Premiership fixtures, against Aston Villa on the 17th and West Ham on the 24th.

Joorabchian also represents Argentine internationals Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano and says they had similar problems when they first moved to West Ham in August 2006.
"Carlos and Javier found it difficult when they first went to West Ham and missed out on pre-season," he said.
"But we saw the best of Tevez at the end of that season, when he was magnificent."
And Joorabchian is in no doubt that Jo will be a big success in the Premier League.
The striker arrives at Eastlands with a superb scoring record of 44 goals in 77 games for CSKA Moscow and has recently broken into the Brazil squad.
"Jo has all the attributes you need to succeed in the Premiership - he's fast, strong and a superb finisher," Joorabchian said.
