Reus เป้าหมายตัวท็อป แมนซิ โยเวติช เจ็บเอ็นร้อยหวาย

Media City

The transfer window may have *slammed* shut on Monday night but it’ll take more than that to quell the tide of conjecture.

Six days later, the newspapers are still speculating on moves City may make next summer.

According to the Daily Star, Marcos Reus tops the shopping list, though the winger will reportedly set the club back £25m.

“The Daily Star Sunday can reveal that the Borussia Dortmund winger will be City’s top transfer target next year,” Paul Hetherington writes.

“And that will put them in direct opposition with Arsenal their Premier League opponents at The Emirates on Saturday.

“Reus, 25, was selected for the World Cup by Germany, but withdrew with an ankle injury.

“He’s fit again now though and has a buy-out clause in his contract which can be activated by any offer above £25 million from next summer.

“City’s transfer-fixer Txiki Begiristain is already working on the deal.

“Dortmund know they will lose Reus and would prefer him to move to the Premier League rather than their deadly Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.

“City believe Reus is better value than another player they coveted - Angel Di Maria - who moved to Man United from Real Madrid for a British record £59.7m.”

Of course, you will read of any confirmed transfer stories first here on mcfc.co.uk.

Elsewhere, there are some rabble-rousing quotes from Vincent Kompany in the Daily Mirror.

In a piece by Simon Mullock, the City skipper is quoted as saying that the current Barclays Premier League champions are here to stay at the top table of English football.

“This is a club that is investing in all the right places,” said the 28-year-old, who is on course to become the most successful captain in the club’s history.

“Our success comes all the way from the top. From our owner, Sheikh Mansour, to our chairman Khaldoon, and all the way down to the players.

“The manager has played a big role in that, also. He is always calm, he never panics, and that message gets through to the players.

“I know City built up a negative reputation in the minds of some people, but if all the investment that has taken place isn’t a statement of stability and commitment then I don’t know what is.

“Nothing is short-term here. Everything is geared towards being successful now and in the future - and you can only do that if the club is stable.

“We are moving into a new training ground soon, which will be another big step. Our youth-teams are getting better, and our impact on the local community here in Manchester is growing all the time. There are big things to come from this club, believe me.”

Hands up if you speak Montenegrin…

Well, apparently this story on http://www.vijesti.me/ says that Stevan Jovetic pulled up with a hamstring injury in training yesterday and will miss his nation’s international match tomorrow.

That might make him a doubt for City’s encounter with Arsenal in six days but you’ll find out first here on the official site when Manuel gives his pre-Gunners briefing.

Finally, don’t forget that MCWFC take on Chelsea Ladies in their Continental Cup semi-final at 2pm this afternoon at Hyde FC.

You can buy your ticket from the ticket booth located outside the entrance to Ewen Fields from 11am.

Don’t miss it!
