Sven-Goran Eriksson has poured cold water on press speculation that out-of-favour Milan striker Adriano was set for a switch to Eastlands in January.



The City boss has moved to quash the rumours that the Brazilian, who had earlier intimated that he would like to join up with Eriksson, was on the verge of a loan move.

“There is no plan to sign Adriano or any other player we have been linked with,” said the Blues manager.

“People seem to think that we have money for these kind of names, but if we were to go back into the market it would only be to sign a great champion.”
